Background
Romane R, Elliston, alias: Recién Nacido, Pierre de Beauvoir, Vladmir, Rom, and Elli, was born in the garden parish of St. Ann, Jamaica. He grew up in this rural area, where at some point in his infancy he suffered an almost fatal injury to the head. This consequently lead to various future complications. He was then relocated to the city, and capital kingston, where his era of excellence began.
As a child, he was known for being an introvert; from a family of eight, three brothers and two sisters, his parents and himself. Growing up, Romane was known to be silent and prefered to stay by himself. Nonetheless, he later revealed that his staying by himself was due to various personal insecurties among other issues. However, he was never quite an ordinary or average child, so to speak, as he displayed various signs of indifference, such as apathy and a keen sense of responsibility, for his age. In his primary school years, Romane was known by everyone to be soft spoken. But, during his time at primary school he displayed signs of activeness via playing football, dandy shandy, skimage, stuck and pull, karate, relay, b-box and green leaf among other games. Upon his matriculation to high school, he was no longer referred to as Romane, but in stead, Elliston, everyone referred to him by his last name. Actually in hindsight, he said that it must have been a ' Calabar thing'. Additionally, the ramifications of his childhood head injury took full effect at this stage of his life. He lost most if not all of his childhood memories, as well as some of the day to day memories he acquired. Nevertheless, this did not hinder his succeeding. In addition, Elliston had a passion for poetry, he wroote several of them, with his unique diction of play on words, metaphors and hidden meanings. Also, he wrote his first novelette entitled ''The Note'' in 2010. He considered his time at highschool to be his most adventurous as he emerged from his shell; being less silent and more talkative and active. In fact, he expressed that he lived most of his years at high school where he started to 'do road'. At the same time, he expressed that during his time at high school it marked his biggest accomplishment yet, when he was converted to a Christian. Consequently, his new alias 'Recien Nacido'. From here on out, he was never the same, and he indeed exemplified his new alias, being translated 'New Born'. He became popular and well known for his evangelism, surprise attack ministry, group ministry and class ministry among other ministries, where he later joined and became the president of the ISCF (Interschool Christian Fellowship). He was also very friendly and outspoken, standing up for what he believed, and defending his fellow comrades, and even strangers. Whilst this marked his most significant accomploshment, he expressed that it was not without grief , pain or sacrifice, as it also ended his 'doing road'. Elliston at this point maintained a good academic record, where he participated in voluntary service, became deputy head boy and martriculated to 6th form where he found his love for Spanish. Afterwhich, he matriculated to the Shortwood Teachers' College in 2013 where he further explored his love for languages, pursuing studies in Spanish and French. More over, he started writing poems in Spanish and French, and embarked on a quest to start writing his second book, of which the title cannot be disclosed. This book he explaimed to be his best yet, as it is his life's story, one in which he had to make some modifications to protect the identity of the individuals mentioned. He said that no rock was left unturned in the book, and it is a true and undiluted expression of himself, his thoughts and person. Lastly, Elliston currently practices Russian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Romanian and Arabic on his own, while attending a Korean class, and seeking to acquire even more languages. He really enjoys learning languages, and plans to learn even more, even if it's only a few words; interacting with different cultures, meeting new people, cooking, writing poetry, living a life of fittness and learning about history and culture in general. |
